An unexpected and rare snow day in London today so the kids and I had the chance to build their first ever snowman. After four years of them singing along to ‘Frozen’, it was about time! It’s been another festive week for us.

Santa Claus is (or are?!) Coming to Town
What’s the collective noun for a group of Father Christmases / Santa Clauses / St Nicholases, as we met about 2,000 of them this morning?! A merriment perhaps? This week couldn’t have felt more festive if it tried!
Building Skills
It’s three years ago today that my Great British Bake Off Final aired to an audience of 14 million viewers. I don’t think I’ll ever get my head around that. A good time to reflect on what’s changed since then. Such a lot of exciting opportunities and this week, my new building column launched too.
Simple Things
No blog from me last week as I was taking it easy after the London Zoo Stampede. Working my socks off at the moment so trying to make the most of the downtime when I can get it. Looking for an extra pair of hands too if you know someone who’ll fit the bill…
That’s Amore!
Back today from the most incredible fortnight in Italy. Just in time for the new series of Bake Off too.
Have Your Cake And Eat It
I love London Marathon day – massive congratulations to all my mates who ran today. It’s 12 years since I ran the London Marathon myself so today it’s time to put my money where my mouth is. Thankfully there’s a good few bakers up for it next year too.
Wild Week
It’s no exaggeration to say that I had one of the best days of my life this week. Still pinching myself just thinking about it. And of course there was also cake this week (there’s always cake).
Rhubarb & Custard Doughnuts
One of my favourite things about Valentine’s Day is after the purgatory of January, it gives you a bit of an excuse to indulge your sweet tooth. This week I’m sharing lots of Valentine’s bakes to make for someone special or even better, to treat yourself!
Any Excuse to Bake
Feeling hungry? Bake. Feeling down? Bake. Feeling bored? Bake. Feeling excited about Christmas? Bake. Want to cheer someone up? Bake. Want to raise some money for charity? Bake. I’m not saying baking will solve all your problems, but it’s a pretty good place to start!
Wedding Bells
We had a wonderful Great British Bake Off reunion this week at a very special wedding. And as you would expect, there was a LOT of cake…
